HARRY WINSTON RARE TIMEPIECES
SPONSORS THE "TAORMINA BNL FILMFEST 2003"

The Harry Winston brand has always been closely associated with the movie world. Back in 1947, the jeweller had already started adorning Hollywood's most prestigious film stars with exceptional jewellery at the Oscar ceremonies. This year again, the House confirms its continued involvement in the seventh art. For the first time, Harry Winston will be sponsoring the 49th edition of the Taormina Film Festival in Sicily (Italy), which will take place from June 7 to June 14, 2003. In that capacity, the House's horological Division, Harry Winston Rare Timepieces, will offer the event's official prize - the "Taormina Arte Award for Cinematic Excellence"-in the form of a watch presented each evening to a different personality of the film industry.

Wonderful stories illustrate the close ties between Harry Winston and the world of cinema. Didn't Marilyn Monroe ask Mr. Winston - in her famous song "Diamonds are a girl's best friend" - to reveal the secret of diamonds to her? Nor is it possible to forget the 61.42 carat diamond offered by Richard Burton to Elizabeth Taylor on their engagement, and which has since then become famous by entering history as the Taylor-Burton.

The Taormina BNL FilmFest is organized by the cultural association of the Taormina municipality - "Taormina Arte" - with the support of the regional government of Sicily and the Italian Ministry of Heritage and Cultural Affairs. The event closes on Saturday, June 14, with the presentation of the "Nastri d'argento" prize, the oldest and most prestigious distinction of the Italian cinema awarded by the National Syndicate of Film Journalists (SNGCI).
