Dubey
& Schaldenbrand
- "Spiral - Split-Second"
Ever since
its foundation in 1946, Dubey & Schaldenbrand have specialized in
the split-second chronograph. It has always been our desire and
goal to pay tribute to the origins of the Dubey & Schaldenbrand
watch company by introducing a split-second chronograph.
For 2003, it is with particular pride and pleasure that we introduce
"Spiral - Split- Second" the second member of the "Spiral" family.
"Spiral - Split-Second" is … as its name suggests … a split-second
chronograph which features the patented blued-steel "Isoval" spiral
recoil spring between the chronograph counter hand and the split-second
counter hand. Although without function, this purely decorative
spiral pivots around the center axis of the hands.
"Spiral - Split-Second" comes in a 316 L stainless surgical steel
case measuring 40 x 46.5 mm with a thickness of 14.7 mm. It uses
a curved sapphire crystal which features an anti-reflective coating
on both sides of the crystal for added legibility.
As for all watches of the "Spiral" family, the unique and stylish
"mobile lugs" conveniently fix the leather strap to the case.
The silvered dial with its stunning guilloche pattern along with
the roman numeral hour markers give this model a "face" which will
certainly not go unnoticed. For this particular model, the performance
of the split second chronograph is at its absolute peak thanks to
its self-winding, automatic movement which runs on a frequency of
28,800 oscillations.
A close look at the dial reveals 4 sub-dials namely … a 30-minute
counter … a 12-hour counter … a small-second counter and … a date
indicator. Typical of Dubey & Schaldenbrand watches, the sapphire
crystal case back allows one to appreciate the beauty and functionality
of the hand-engraved movement.
We at Dubey & Schaldenbrand are very proud of our home region of
"Les Ponts-de-Martel" which is why we take particular pleasure in
the fact that the master craftsmen who engrave our watches originate
from this particular region.
