True style: Patek Philippe Chronometro Gondolo Ref. 5098 in rose gold

In 2007, Patek Philippe relaunched a legendary collection that had literally been in limbo for eighty years: the Chronometro Gondolo. This year marks the debut of the Ref. 5098R, a new version with an 18K rose gold case and a matching dial. The warmth that it radiates played a particularly important role in the art nouveau and art deco periods.

The Ref. 5135 is Patek Philippe's new Annual Calendar with three aperture displays: The date appears at 12 o'clock while the day of the week and the month are shown in small apertures at 10 and 2 o'clock. In the bottom half of the face, the moon-phase display in the subsidiary 24-hour dial progresses with such great accuracy that it only deviates from the true lunar orbit by one day in 122 years.
The movement is accommodated in an elegant tonneau case inspired by the Art Deco style, accented with a pillow-shaped bezel.
The watch is worn with an alligator strap with a solid gold buckle. It is also available in 18K yellow gold.

The new Ref. 5135 Annual Calendar is based on a patent filed by Patek Philippe in 1996.
It automatically keeps track of the different number of days in each month and only needs to be manually corrected at the end of February.
The case reflects the sleek lines of the Art Deco style, and the movement is a première true to the Patek Philippe heritage: The new caliber 324/205 self-winding movement features numerous innovations, among them the four-spoke Gyromax balance with four poising weights (masselots) recessed into the balance wheel rim.
It underscores Patek Philippe's quest to evolve the art of mechanical watchmaking ever further as the 21st century unfolds.

The Patek Philippe Gondolo
Ref. 5109: a statement of elegance

The all-new Gondolo Ref. 5109 men’s wristwatch is Patek Philippe’s second launch showpiece in Basel. Its rectangular case is anatomically curved, and like the “10 DAY TOURBILLON”, it reflects design elements from the 1930s.
Indeed, it was inspired by the art déco Ref. E739 from that period, a timepiece now on display at the Patek Philippe Museum.
The case, water-resistant to 25 meters, is made of 18K yellow, rose, or white gold and fitted with a solid-gold caseback. Its extra-thin manually wound caliber 215 PS movement features a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock.
The same legendary movement, embossed with the Geneva Seal like all mechanical movements from the company’s workshops, ticks in several other Patek Philippe timepieces.
The dial is crafted from gold with the same color as the case, and has a very fine granular texture that makes it reflect light with a crystalline glow.
Black-oxidized, applied Breguet-style gold numerals as well as blackened gold hands and the geometric railway-track minute scale give this watch a stylish and distinctive personality.
The Gondolo Ref. 5109 is worn with a crocodile strap and a prong buckle in 18K gold to match the case.
