Lady Waltham 1912
The fashion for ladies wristwatches
was launched by Waltham as early as 1912. This represented a great
novelty, as wristwatches prepared to take over from pocket-watches,
which from now on would be viewed as an essentially masculine item.
This very first "Lady Waltham" was already revolutionary:
exclusively feminine, with a diameter of just 25.40 mm, it featured
a distinctive design and was worn on the wrist, according to the
new fashion proposed by Waltham. Moreover, thanks to a clever bracelet
concept, traditionally-minded women could still choose to wear it
as a fob-watch
