Collection “Torpedo”
The case’s exquisite manufacture, the carefully executed automatic
mechanism characterized by the refinement of the blue screws.
Torpedo is the watch of standard beauty par excellence...
Torpedo, another name associated with a classical cigar shape,
important due to its dimensions but without being excessive in
size, is the round, classical model in the Cuervo y Sobrinos collection.
The 40 millimetre diameter makes it stand out on the wrist, without
succumbing to the fashion of the exaggeratedly large watch.
The case’s exquisite manufacture maintains the features of the
historic “Esplendidos” model with a deep groove cut around the
case’s circumference which extends into the four thick brackets,
acting almost like a “leit motif” of the brand’s aesthetic.
The carefully executed automatic mechanism, with “côte de Génève”
and “perlage”, is characterized by the refinement of the blue
screws and the oscillating mass decorated and personalized by
La Casa.
Torpedo is the watch of standard beauty par excellence, to the
extent that this is guaranteed to its owner by its traditional
round shape; the watch for consumers who are not slaves to fashion
but prefer the beautiful shapes of the past combined with today’s
excellent quality of production.
Perhaps for this reason Cuervo y Sobrinos has wished to excel
in the movement’s functional features, also producing this model
with GMT or world time characteristics, the two cornerstones of
functional watchmaking, and other complexities for a public increasingly
satisfied by a product of which it demands traditional beauty
combined with the latest technical and functional characteristics.
This model is accompanied by a splendid humidifier chest, expressly
designed by Cuervo y Sobrinos for the occasion.
The steel model’s face uses motifs taken from the old fob watches
of the thirties whilst the gold model is available in classical
colours with applied “bâton” hands. The sapphire glass is treated
to prevent reflection.
