Tribute to the 125th anniversary of Bulgari and its founder

Around the middle of the 19th century, a timeless concept of elegance was born with Sotirio Bulgari.

The new Sotirio Bulgari features a classic style reinterpreted in a contemporary key. A perfect synthesis of innovative design and manufacturing skill, it is distinguished by its sophisticated workmanship and great attention to detail. The new collection dedicated to this man is Bulgari's new version of a formal watch, featuring handmade movements, dials finished with exclusive treatments and a unique design for the watchcase whose crown is distinguished by the absence of the Bulgari logo.

The Sotirio Bulgari Multicomplication is an example of this achievement.  Made by Bulgari, it represents a unique fusion of functions with the BVL 465 calibre and traverse tourbillon mechanism and perpetual calendar with an innovative display that features double, coaxial retrograde hands, offered in a limited edition of 30 pieces.

BVL 465 CALIBER

The BVL 465 caliber is an exclusive Multicomplication, developed and produced by Bulgari, that features a unique paring of complications: a see trough Tourbillon and a Perpetual Calendar function with double coaxial retrograde display.

The design and development of this new Bulgari “haut de gamme” caliber took 5 years and required the contribution of 14 different specializations. Its production calls for the highest level of craftsmanship and precision from the Master Watchmakers who work for 3 months to execute the 8,370 delicate operations that go into the manufacturing, assembly, finishing, setting and control of the 465 components of this caliber. Bulgari’s meticulous attention to detail is exemplified in the range of refined finishings given to each of the components, such as “perlage”, “traits tirés”, hand chamfering, black gold and the vertical “dressé” of the personalized 18-ct gold rotor.
