The line and style of this watch takes its inspiration from the forties.

The model’s original design was devised with a great innovative spirit for those years, in a period in which there was a burst of architectural development and the sinuous lines of new and complex constructions imposed new canons of elegance on the designs of the period.
The Havana of that epoch was the greatest exponent of a diffuse well-being, allowing all the famous architects to apply their exuberance of spirit in the opulent and beautiful constructions that even today are a testimony of a period of great development in the world of design.
This new stylistic wave imposed on the inhabitants of Havana of the period a revaluation of the concept of elegance, giving rise to a period of transition between the elegance of neo-colonialism and a much more classical and detailed elegance.
Cuervo y Sobrinos at that time were already conscious of the importance of the details that mark the difference, producing timeless objects above passing fashions.
The Esplendidos model possesses all these features and the result is an elegant watch, made entirely of gold or steel, after the designs and sketches recovered from the “caveau”.
The rectangular case, measuring 37 by 47 millimetres (including the brackets), is slightly curved, ergonomically following the line of the wrist. The design of the brackets recalls the lines of the Eiffel Tower’s base. Impermeability is guaranteed by six screws that close the back.
The gold watch is fitted with a crocodile skin strap and gold clasp and the steel version has an unfolding safety clasp with hidden opening, both personalized with the brand’s logo.
The sapphire glass is treated to prevent reflection and the crown is made of gold.
The face is hand-crafted using fire-enamelled porcelain, with applied “bâton” hands, and the name Cuervo y Sobrinos Habana is also fire-enamelled. There is a wide selection of colours available for the face, depending on the colour of the case’s metal. For the series made of gold, a cream, pink or black face can be chosen whereas for the series made of steel the colours available are “argenté”, black, grey or pink.
The mechanism used is automatic loading with a central second hand, with 19 rubies and shock-proof system. Each model is signed by Cuervo y Sobrinos and is entirely finished by hand with “côte de Génève”, “perlage” and blue screws.
A classical and safe mechanism that constitutes the soul of this numbered series and confers on it the characteristic of being unique and unrepeatable, according to the dictates of the best collectors.
