Porsche Design Worldtimer P´6750 in rose gold

Eterna will be presenting a new version of the Porsche Design Worldtimer P´6750 in rose gold at this year’s international watch and jewelry exhibition “Baselworld” (April 3–10, 2008). The classically elegant material contrasts to the watch’s purist design. The functional timepiece is equipped with a world time mechanism that is unique to date - when changing time zones, the mechanical-digital reference time is transferred to the central hands simply by pressing a button - without loosing a second.

Functional design
Simple cylindrical shapes characterise the design theme of the case made of rose gold. This noble material emphasises the watch’s high quality, is very robust and is easy to work with. The case has been sandblasted to lend it a matt-finished surface, contributing to its purist appearance. The black dial contrasts with the elegant, high-quality rose gold case. Typography, design and colours of the dial are very clearly laid out and underline the watch`s functionality. White luminous coating on the hour, minute hands and indices ensures good readability. The white second hand with the red tip and the red arrow on the time-zone display highlight additional functions on the dial. Located at four o’clock, the crown serves to set the time. Apart from that, the watch can also be wound manually using the crown. The “Clous de Paris” decoration on the crown is not just made for aesthetic reasons, but to improve the grip on the crowns.
A black strap made from natural caoutchouc connects smoothly with the trapezoidal lugs, forming another point of contrast to this classical elegant material of the case. The inside of the strap with pattern of latitudes and longitudes enhance wearing comfort by allowing air to penetrate between skin and strap. The double folding clasp is also made of rose gold, ensuring additional stability. Screwed down by six screws, the rose gold back is engraved with all city codes of the reference cities.

World time mechanism The movement module developed and manufactured by Eterna in-house features a unique world time mechanism, extending the Valgranges A 07 111 movement to the Eterna 6037 calibre. Three hands placed in the centre of the watch indicate the time in the time zone the wearer is currently located. By means of discs rotating behind the dial, the movement additionally shows, via two dial-openings, a reference location and the present time in the corresponding time zone. The second mechanical digital time runs parallel to the analogue time displayed. Once correctly set, the watch can show the time of any one of twenty-four time zones. Changing between time zones is easy, requiring not more than the press of a button. Porsche Design Worldtimer P´6750 in rose gold is planned for market introduction in the last quarter of 2008.
